The Orchestra

About The Orchestra

The present orchestra was formed in 1952, generally playing three concerts a year in local venues. We are a group of enthusiastic and friendly musicians getting together once a week to rehearse for a series of concerts throughout the concert season.

The orchestra plays a wide variety of music from the standard classical repertoire through to light classics. Our concerts provide an opportunity for everyone to experience live music played by a full orchestra in local venues.

We meet and rehearse from 8pm to 10pm on Tuesday evenings at All Saints Church Hall, off Park Road, Southport

Interested in playing?

We have an excellent membership with about 50 players at each rehearsal. However, we are always looking for extra string players. If you play violin, viola, cello or double bass to grade 5-6+ you will find a warm welcome. Brass, woodwind and percussion players please contact us as we may well have vacancies in these sections.

So, if you would like to join a very friendly orchestra who have immense fun playing together whilst striving to achieve a high level of excellence in our performances, please contact:
