A very warm welcome to you from Southport Orchestra

We take our fun seriously!

      The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Concert

Following the period of lockdown restrictions Southport Orchestra was keen to return to performing again in December 2021 with a Christmas programme of light, seasonal music aided by the Woodlands Primary School Choir. Their 2022 season opened in March with a spring concert featuring guest soloist Heather Stark, a young, up and coming harpist.

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is the focus of the orchestra’s summer concert scheduled for 9 th July. A range of patriotic, foot-tapping light classical music is a feature of this event with virtually everyone’s tastes being catered for.

The final concert of the 2022 season will take place on 3 rd December. Emmanuel Parish Church, Cambridge Road, Southport PR9 9PR, is the venue for all of this season’s concerts, each with a starting time of 7-30 pm.

On a sad note: RE “OUR LEADER” Sadly the Leader of Southport Orchestra passed away recently following a long illness. Doctor Melanie Foster had been the orchestra’s mainstay for a number of years and will be greatly missed by us all. Our thoughts are with her close family and friends.
