A very warm welcome to you from Southport Orchestra

We take our fun seriously!

We welcome you to our 2020 season of concerts, having said goodbye to perhaps one of our most successful years ever.

2020 promises to be another vintage year for the Southport Orchestra. Our first concert on the 28th March features our principal flautist, Jane Pembleton-Smyth, who will play the elegant and expressive Mozart Flute Concerto No.1 in G Major, a work which will really showcase Jane’s virtuosity. The concerto is preceded by Glinka’s overture to Ruslan & Ludmila and the final work will be the beautiful and monumental second symphony by Rachmaninov.

Our other concerts in 2020 are Summer Serenade on the 18th July at Emmanuel Church and on 28 November we are pleased to welcome back our old friend Tom Kimmance. But more of that another time.

We really hope you enjoy our concert at St John’s Birkdale in March. Don’t forget to secure your tickets early for this concert as we always sell out at this venue.

WE ARE ACTIVELY LOOKING FOR AN ADDITIONAL TRUMPET PLAYER WHO HAS EXPERIENCE OF PLAYING IN AN ENSEMBLE. PLEASE CONTACT US VIA OUR EMAIL admin@southportorchestra.co.uk
