A little bit about me.............................

I am a lawyer by profession and work in the field of Mental Health so I'm afraid I can't give you any other details!
I am also a Reader in the Church of England and am licensed to St. John's Church Birkdale where I run the children's service on a Friday after school, take the Sunday services from time to time, am a member of the Parish Church Council, produce the parish magazine, take Communion to the housebound, and help with the monthly lunch club. Other than that my time is my own!

I enjoy skiing, golf and fell-walking as outdoor pursuits and go to pilates classes, read and go to the theatre as indoor pastimes. I also enjoy cooking. I'm a member of Love Film so on some Saturday evenings my idea of heaven is to stay in with my husband Stuart (viola player) have a glass of wine and watch a good film - I think my favourite is probably 'The Shawshank Redemption'.

I learnt the piano as a child but would not practise so never made any progress - I thought I could just sit down and play without the hard work, and anyway the piano was in the lounge was where it was always cold. I came top in singing one term at school when I mimed through every lesson. (You can tell I have a wonderful musical background!) However, late in life I took up the violin, and saw the error of my ways. I still have lessons and do practise! Playing with the orchestra has been wonderful for me (my counting and sight-reading have improved dramatically ) and I really enjoy our rehearsals and concerts. I think my favourite composer is possibly Mendelssohn but I find his works hellishly difficult.

My most memorable musical experience was taking part in the Superorchestra with the Liverpool Philharmonic and having Vasily Petrenko as the conductor (sorry Jeff!). If I could change anything I'd probably turn the clock back and start playing the violin as a child (and practise!)
